Lake Martha Association MeetingMay 13, 1992 7:00P.M.MinutesThe meeting was called to order at 7:15. The treasures report was read by Donna. Del and Jim have been paid for the lake restoration. $27,253, was collected and there's still about $3,700 outstanding. OLD BUSINESS Steve suggested that we not apply for a weed harvest permit since we can harvest up to 2500 sq ft without one. Frank said that the cutter boat is operable and in the water but he needs to help with the rake boats. He suggested that we just fix one boat now. Steve suggested asking Olson's if they could store the rake boats there in lieu of annual dues. Dave motioned that we ask them. Brad seconded and the motion carried. Steve will ask the Olsons. Steve called the DNR about boat launch improvements. They said that it was on the docket to be worked on this summer. Lance was concerned about noise for the people adjacent to the public access and wants them to make sure that they have extra funds to build fences if necessary. There is a seminar on May 30th about lakes, Milfoil, etc. Lance and Gary Anderson volunteered to attend. Bob motioned that the Lake Association should should pay $12 fee to attend. John seconded and the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday June 10th at Steve Hancock's. Bob Haligan has been talking with the Rockford township board about the proposed sewer project and stopping effluent from being leaking into the lakes. Steve, Bob, and Ray attended the township meeting and got the impression that the board didn't understand the effects this would have on the lake. They felt that it would be best to try to stop it at this level rather than wait until the project was further along in the planning stages. There was a meeting with lake Charlotte improvement association and their LID. All sides agreed that the effluent should not be allowed running into the lakes. There is a township meeting to discuss this on June 2nd. Everyone should attend. Are three objectives at this point should be.
The association is not taking a position on this project in general, only saying that any effluent being allowed back into the lakes is unacceptable.
